Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Newtown -- (CNS) -- Orlando Hays, 78, died at 11:30 p. m. Thursday at his home here, following a paralytic stroke five hours earlier. He was found in an unconscious condition by the Fox family, who resided with him, when they returned from work in the evening. Funeral services will be at 4 p. m. (DST) Sunday at the Newtown Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lowell Morris officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery. The body will remain at the Parham Funeral Home, Veedersburg, until the hour of services. Mr. Hays was a 50-year member of the Hillsboro Knights of Pythias Lodge. He was a member of the Newtown Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge. The deceased was born May 9, 1870, in Glasgow, Ky., son of Taylor and Amanda Sims Hays, and came to this vicinity at the age of 17. He was married 46 years ago to Elizabeth Kerr, who preceded him in death 28 years ago. Surviving are three brothers, William Hays, Veedersburg, and James and Virgil Hays, Frankfort, Ind.; and a step-sister, Mrs. Eva McGrew, Richville, Ky.  --typed by Walt W
